FACTORS AFFECTING ORAL HEALTH CARE OF PATIENT WITH DIABETES MELLITUS IN MUANG WAN SUB-DISTRICT NAM-PHONGDISTRICT, KHONKAEN PROVINCE

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study personal characteristics and precede proceed model affect to oral health care of patient with diabetes mellitus in Muang Wan sub-district Nam-Phongdistrict, KhonKaen province. The samples were 133 diabetes mellitus patients randomly selected by systematic random sampling from the 290 populations of diabetes mellitus patients at Muang Wan sub-district. This study was collected data by interview form that examined and verified by the three experts for content validity and all items objective congruence were more than 0.50 and the Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient was at 0.96. Data collected between 1stand 31st July 2019. The data distribution was performed by descriptive statistics including percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum. The Inferential statistics were Pearson’s product-moment correlation, Spearman's rank correlation coefficient and Stepwise multiple linear regressions. The level of statistical significance was set at 0.05. The results showed five of precede proceed model; attitude about oral health care, number of oral cleaning equipment, access to public health facilities, the support of the Village Health Volunteers, awareness about oral health care and five variables could predict the oral health care of patient with diabetes mellitus at 61.3%.
