Abstract

This research is an action research by using empowerment, sample groups, diabetes in health personnel risk group 40 people, Muang district public health office in KhonKaen Province, selected by simple random sampling method, divided into 3 phases, Phase 1, Situation analysis phase, Phase 2, Implementation to develop a behavioral modification model for the phase 3 Evaluation phase Collecting qualitative and quantitative data Qualitative by group discussion Participatory observation Quantitative content analysis was collected by Health literacy knowledge and practice questionnaires. Body mass index and waist circumference Quantitative data analysis with Paired t-test The results of Phase 1 study found that risk groups were interested in developing healthy behaviors. And participated in the design of health behavior development activities according to the PRECEED MODEL Phase 2 theory. Application of empowerment in developing healthy behaviors consists of strengthening knowledge and skills. Arrange the group exchange learning process Development of contributing factors and supplementary factors Reflections to improve research Exercise group Friends help friends Having a coach to give advice and give rewards. Phase 3 Evaluation: The average score of knowledge Demeanor Body mass index and waist circumference after health behavior development were significantly higher than before development (p-value <0.001). Body mass index and waist circumference after health behavior development were lower than before development. With statistically significant (p-value <0.001). Based on this study, it indicates that the development of health behavior patterns based on the empowerment concept works for diabetes risk group personnel. Therefore should be applied in chronic disease groups, both at risk and in the next group
