Nursing care for lower Cervical Injury: Case study

Abstract

Spine and spinal cord injuries result in the work of the body in terms of movement. feeling and the control of autonomic systems in the body is impaired which     is the result of spinal cord damage from injury causing physical, psychosocial, and occupational consequences for the injured and caregivers spinal cord injury It is a threat to the health of the injured person. from long-term treatment cause, a high-cost impact on patients and families It causes social and physiological problems. Usually, >50% of patients may not regain normal functioning and daily life. Spinal cord injuries are a serious health problem worldwide. The Objective was to study and compare the care and nursing process in lower cervical spine injury patients.Selected two case studies were admitted at the Spine Unit, Khon Kaen Hospital. Between February 2021 to September 2021, data collected from medical records according to the nursing process as follows: 1) Assess problems and needs for nursing care 2) Use the data for nursing diagnosis 3) Make a nursing care plan 4) Nursing practice 5) Nursing evaluation 6) Comparison of case studies 7) Conclusions and recommendations. The Results use Gordon's 11 patterns to assess problems and needs. resulting in complete, comprehensive, and holistic information Using Orem's Self-Care Deficiency Theory and Gibson's Empowerment Theory (Gibson) as a guideline for nursing planning. enabling effective nursing planning. Recommendations empowerment should focus on internal personal factor and interpersonal factors
