Development of Drug Prices data analysis in Health Region 7 using A3 problem-solving tools

Abstract

This action research developed the drug prices data analysis using A3 problem-solving tools, which is part of Lean Management approved for Quality improvement. The study took Placed on 9 persons involved Pharmacist in purchasing and Inventory unit, an Informatics pharmacist, a pharmacist assistant, and 104 industrial pharmacists.The system had 8 steps 1. Clarify the problem 2. Break down the problem 3. Set the target 4. Analyze the root cause 5. Develop countermeasures, step 1 to 5 developed in October to November 2022, and 6. Pick countermeasures and implement them recorded in December 2022 and 7. Monitor results and process 8. Standardized and share success in January 2023. Tools used System flow in Microsoft Visio 2007 and Google applications (Google Form and Google Sheets). Analysis with Descriptive Statistics. The results of the study had 631 records analyzed to Drug Prices for 233 items in Health Region 7 from 104 companies. The data management system used Google applications to record and generate reports and changed from paper-based to web-based. This system is A cloud-based architecture that enables you to collaborate with anyone, anytime, anywhere, and double checking by data owner that showed a reduced 16 processes to 9 processes and reduces time from 98 days to 49 days. A3 problem-solving tools to identify and reduce waste while improving compliance to the Conditions of Satisfaction, focus, collaboration, and consensus it brings to problem-solving and decision-making. The flexibility of the tool also makes it easy to adapt to a variety of tasks and contexts.
