The effects of nursing service program and Telenursing for elderly patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease clinic, Lampang Hospital

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of nursing service program and telenursing for elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at Lampang Hospital's COPD Clinic. From January to May 2025, 35 elderly COPD patients participated in this quasi-experimental study, which followed a one-group pre-post test design. The instruments of this study: a nursing service program and Telenursing for elderly patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, a knowledge assessment (CVI = 0.98, KR-20 = 0.72), a self-care behavior assessment (CVI = 0.98, α = 0.89), and a clinical outcome assessment. The data were examined using Paired t-tests and Fisher's exact test.The Results of this program significantly improved patients' knowledge (7.37±0.60 to 9.83±0.57) and self-care behavior (76.3±5.44 to 98.43±1.52; p<0.001). Clinical outcomes, including dyspnea symptom, severity dyspnea scale, and health impact, showed considerable improvement (p<0.001). Therefore; this nursing service program for elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, when combined with telenursing, can increase patients' knowledge and self-care behavior, resulting in better clinical outcomes. Overall patient satisfaction is at the highest level with a score of 4.64. It should be used in long-term care.
