The effect of AIDS Prevention Behavior Promotion Program Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Pregnancy in School among Student Leaders in a Private School in Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

This research is quasi-experimental research measurements before and after the experiment study of the effects of the AIDS prevention behavior promotion program sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy in school of student leaders a private school in mueang district, nakhon ratchasima province.

The purposes of this research were 1) to study behavior in knowledge attitude and practice on AIDS prevention sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy in school, 2) to study the effects of health promotion programs in AIDS behaviormodification sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy in school before and after the experiment. This research consisted of a program to promote AIDS prevention behavior sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy in school the tools used in the research were questionnaires for data collection. The sample group is 200 student leaders use descriptive statistics by finding the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and analyzing data by comparing the mean scores on knowledge, attitude, practice before and after using statistics paired samples test. Results were as follows: The results showed that most respondents were female 50.5%, aged 14 years 48.5% most of the students studied in secondary school drade 2 42.9%, general employment contract 56.5%, the amount of money that students get to school on a daily basis is 70 – 100 baht 44.0%, family status with 69.0% of parents, students live in their own homes 91.5%, most of the students had knowledge at a high level of 88.0 %, attitude toward AIDS prevention sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy in school found that most of the students with a good attitude of 74.5 %, most of the students had good practice at 54.0%. The results of comparison of knowledge, attitude and practice before and after AIDS prevention sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy in school age showed that the sample group have an average score after the experiment than before the experiment with statistically significant level (P <0.05)
