The Role of Nurses in Promoting the Health of the Elderly away from the Coronavirus Disease 2019

From the epidemic situation of coronavirus disease 2019 that has spread widely at present, especially the third wave of outbreaks that spread quickly, get infected more easily, more severe symptoms and death especially in the elderly. The elderly are at risk to infect the disease and more severe symptoms because the elderly is the age where the body is deteriorating. In addition, most of the elderly have congenital diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease and cancer its make them a high risk to infect and may have more severe symptoms and mortality than other age groups. The coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak having affected elderly in terms of physical, mental, social and economic health. Therefore, it is an important challenge to the role of nurses in promoting the health of the elderly in the community away from the coronavirus disease 2019, covering physical, mental, social, and economic health including vaccination against COVID-19 to reduce violence and death.
