The Effectiveness of “District Health Board” Mechanism Using to Driven Dengue Fever Control and Prevention, Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

This research is a participatory action research, aimed to develop a mechanism, and evaluate the effectiveness of District Health Board: DHB of Phimai District to driving as control and prevention of dengue fever. The complication was conducted from January to December 2022, was divided 4 phases. The target group was (1) District Health Board or DHB of Phimai District, was from various sectors such as government and politics, academic, and civil society, amount 15 peoples. And (2) the selective case amount 226 peoples, were a represent from 226 villages to evaluated the effectiveness of operation of DHB. Data gathering tools for DHB group was group discussion, and lessons learned forum; and AIC process, and for the represent was the risk assessment form of village to Dengue fever infection.                The results showed that DHB Mechanisms of Phimai District Committee consisted: the district level (DHB); sub-district (SHB); and village (VHB) levels, had driven under the strategic plan of Phimai with 5 missions. The results showed that in 2022, Phimai District had 22 patients with dengue fever, as morbidity rate of 16.90 per 100,000 populations. which was lower than the 5-year median, which was equal to 202 cases and the morbidity rate is 155.20 per 100,000 populations. Summary and recommendations: The DHB help to resolve well on the problem of dengue fever, should to had been defined clearly to the structure and roles, duties, master plans, and projects also. However, the needs to be developed is: personnel development in the formulation of visions, missions, goals; development of technology and information systems; and system for medical and public health services providing.
