Development of a Health Data Center under the operation of Health Research and Development of the Nakhon Ratchasima Public Health Provincial Office

Abstract

This is action research. The research is divided into three phases: (1) analysis of policies, situations, problems, and solutions to health data operations (2) design and development of a health data center; (3) evaluation of the development of a health data center under the operation of Health Research and Development of the Nakhon Ratchasima Public Health Provincial Office. Data were collected using three types of tools: questionnaires, focus groups, and in-depth interviews. The sample group includes 1 person responsible for certifying ethics in human research, 1 person responsible for the Journal of Medical and Public Health, 1 person, the Human Research Ethics Committee, 3 people, three experts who peer-reviewed original research articles and academic articles, and 73 people who used the health data center. Analyze qualitative data by classifying and categorizing the data as findings, while quantitative data analysis To find frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation and analyze F-test statistics.

The results of the research found that (1) health policy at all levels focuses on integrating information technology into operations with regard to health data center usage problems, most of which are still manual operations. Sometimes documents are incomplete or lost, and space is required for document storage. Guidelines for solving problems by developing a health data center under the operation of Health Research and Development to be able to store, disseminate, and search health information. (2) Design and develop a health data center under the operation of Health Research and Development of the Nakhon Ratchasima Public Health Provincial Office, consisting of a data center structure with 6 main menus: home page, login, publishing and publishing unit, unit Ensure ethics in human research, research databases, and academic forums. The user can fill in information and track performance by themselves. (3) Evaluation of the development of a health data center found that, overall, those involved were satisfied with the development of the health data center; the information was accurate, appropriate, useful in promoting academic positions, and it was also a key performance indicator for research by area agencies. Suggestions should be made to bring the health data center into continuous development. and expand the results to other public health provincial offices.
