Abstract

When the disaster occurs, it affects people with all ages. However, gender refers to culturally or socially constructed roles assigned to males and females which are differences. Gender can influence how people respond to the disaster. Understanding the gender differences and its impact, nurses can tailor the intervention appropriately to the individual’s needs. This paper aims to introduce incorporation of the gender concept into the disaster management.
