Nursing Care Needs of Hospitalized Pregnant Women with Pregnancy Induced Hypertension for Overcoming a Crisis

บทคัดย่อ

             This descriptive qualitative research aimed to explore nursing care needs of hospitalized pregnant women with Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (PIH) for overcoming a crisis. Twenty participants were selected by purposive sampling based on selected criteria. Data were collected by personal in-depth interview 2-3 times, approximately 30-40 minute/time. Data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings revealed themes of nursing care needs for overcoming a crisis among hospitalized pregnant women with pregnancy induce hypertension:included 4 categories (1) Physical care (2) Painreliefdue to labour pain (3) Nursing care for emotional response, and (4) Information of health status during hospitalization

                The study findings indicated nurse midwife should provide nursing care that congruent with pregnant women’s needs including physical emotional and giving information. The results of this study could be applied in recruiting and developing nursing care among hospitalized pregnant women with pregnancy-induce hypertension which will lead to developing nursing quality.
