The Perception of Hypertension information, Prevention Disease Behavior and Image of Department of Disease Control of People Livivg in Region 10th Area

The objective of this study was to examine the perception of hypertension information, perception and control disease behaviors, and image of the Department of Disease Control (DDC) of people who lived in the area of the Office of Disease Prevention and Control Region 10, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The sample were 400 people choosing by simple randomized. A total of questionnaires was uses as an instrument and data were analyzed by descriptive statistics: percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The study found that majority of the samples were exposed information with 99.5% ( = 4.18, SD = 1.07). All of the samples could reach information sources and top 3 most informed sources accessibility were village health volunteers with 100% following by health workers with 99.2% and teachers, professors, community leaders, religious leaders, villagers with 97.7% respectively. The samples were very satisfied with the overall information with 98.5% ( = 3.26, SD = 0.49). Moreover, average hypertension knowledge was high and also prevention behaviors were highly suitable ( = 35.91, SD = 5.76), Public’s viewpoint on positive image of the DDC were at extreme level with 97.5% ( = 47.24, SD = 3.84).
Providing people with the correct knowledge and appropriate preventive behavior is essential. Therefore, using personal media such as village health volunteers, health workers with potential to communicate risks by defining appropriate keywords for the target audience will lead to a better change in self-defense behavior.
