Abstract
Stress among army personnel deployed in 3 southern border provinces may be related to risk and remote family and affect their competency of work. Objective: To study the anxiety on offspring and the stress level among army personnel deployed in 3 southern border provinces Materials and Methods: Army personnel of 312th Infantry Battalion Task Force 14th task force at Thanto district Yala provinces who had been deployed in 3 southern border provinces for 5 months answered 2 questionnaires. The first one was the assessment of anxiety on offspring concerning ost of living health safety education behavior and drug abuses. The other was self-assessment of stress. Results: 631 army personnel answered the questionnaires. 188 (29.79%) had children aged less than 18 years. 68.6%, 65.4% and 68.6% of them expressed anxiety on cost of living child’s health and child’s afety respectively. Factors contributing to high stress scores were private rank and salary less than 10,000 Baht. Conclusions: The anxiety on offspring among army personnel deployed in 3 southern border provinces is commonly related to cost of living health and safety. Private rank and low income are important factors related to high stress level.
