Introduction: The medical nutrition therapy is a crucial pre-clinical subject for Nutrition and Dietician students before having trained clinical skill. After co-operative education supervising, the professional dietitians' feedbacks revealed that some of the trainees were found to be insufficient medical food application. Objective: 1) to compare student’s achievement and relative gain score before and after learning through the medical food instructional packages 2) to study student’s leaning achievement on knowledge, understanding and application of medical food during leaning by using medical food instructional packages. Methods: A total of 25 Nutrition and Dietician student year 3 who registered for the medical nutrition therapy II course were enrolled in this study. Medical food instructional packages, achievement test form, knowledge understanding, and application of medical food test and the satisfaction questionnaire were used in this experiment. Descriptive statistics as mean, standard variation paired t-test were utilized for data analysis. Result: After using medical food instructional packages, increasing student’s learning achievement (p<0.05) were found. The average relative gain score was 73.81+ 24.72% which is the highest level. Student’s learning achievement during learning on knowledge was 92.86%, understanding was 97.06% and application of medical food was 85.17% which were a good level. In summary, using medical food instructional packages can facilitate learners to achieve knowledge, understanding and application of medical food.
