Effect of benzydamine hydrochloride spraying on the endotracheal tube cuff and oropharynx versus placebo on incidence of postoperative sore throat: A randomized double-blind controlled trial

Abstract
บทนำ: ภาวะเจ็บคอหลังผ่าตัดเป็นภาวะแทรกซ้อนที่พบได้บ่อยในผู้ป่วยที่ได้รับการระงับความรู้สึกแบบทั่วไป โดยมีอุบัติการณ์ได้มากถึงร้อยละ 60 เบนไซดรามีนไฮโดรคลอไรด์เป็นยาที่นำมาใช้ในการรักษาอาการเจ็บคอ มีฤทธิ์ลดปวด และต้านการอักเสบ
วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อเปรียบเทียบอุบัติการณ์เจ็บคอหลังหลังระงับความรู้สึกทั่วไปด้วยการใส่ท่อช่วยหายใจ ระหว่างการหล่อลื่นท่อช่วยหายใจร่วมกับพ่นคอหอยด้วยยาเบนไซดรามีนไฮโดรคลอไรด์ และยาหลอก
วิธีการศึกษา: เป็นการศึกษาเชิงทดลองแบบสุ่มและมีตัวแปรควบคุมแบบปกปิดสองด้าน ในผู้ป่วยที่มารับการผ่าตัด ในโรงพยาบาลมหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา 102 คน โดยแบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม เท่ากัน ทั้งสองกลุ่มจะได้รับการระงับความรู้สึกทั่วไปด้วยการใส่ท่อช่วยหายใจ กลุ่ม B (Benzydamine hydrochloride group) จะได้รับการพ่นเบนไซดรามีนไฮโดรคลอไรด์ที่คอหอยและกระเปราะลมของท่อช่วยหายใจ กลุ่ม C (Control group) จะได้รับการพ่นยาหลอก เมื่อการผ่าตัดสิ้นสุดลง มีการเก็บข้อมูลคะแนนความเจ็บคอ และผลข้างเคียงของการทดลอง ที่ 1, 4 และ 24 ชั่วโมงหลังผ่าตัด
ผลการศึกษา: อุบัติการณ์เจ็บคอหลังผ่าตัดในกลุ่มทดลอง น้อยกว่ากลุ่มควบคุม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ที่เวลา 1 และ 4 ชั่วโมงหลังผ่าตัด P=0.027 และ 0.017 ตามลำดับ) และผลข้างเคียงของการศึกษาในทั้งสองกลุ่มไม่แตกต่างกัน
สรุป: การหล่อลื่นท่อช่วยหายร่วมกับพ่นคอหอยด้วยเบนไซดรามีนไฮโดรคลอไรด์ ช่วยลดอุบัติการณ์เจ็บคอหลังผ่าตัดที่ 1 และ 4 ชั่วโมงได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ โดยไม่เพิ่มผลข้างเคียง
