Abstract

Radiography remains the primary imaging modality for the diagnosis of bone tumors and tumor-like lesions. A structured evaluation approach, which considers factors such as lesion location, density, matrix, margins, number, periosteal reaction, cortical involvement, and associated soft-tissue components, tailored to the patient’s age, aids in distinguishing between benign and malignant processes and narrows the differential diagnosis. Furthermore, bone radiographs play a critical role in guiding the need for advanced imaging, biopsy, or surgical intervention, thereby ensuring appropriate and timely clinical management.
