Abstract

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak is considered a global pandemic. It has been more than a year since the global community has been faced with this situation and the spread is still uncontrollable. This epidemic has had a wide impact on society, both socially, economically, and including the health service system that has to adjust the provision of new treatment services in accordance with government measures to prevent the spread of the disease, such as lockdown, limiting the number of people in a group, social distancing, etc., and for the benefit of service recipients as much as possible by providing a distance-delivered care to facilitate the patient. However, because of this, it makes more difficult for patients to access health services. Especially in children with chronic illnesses that require continuous monitoring of symptoms that may cause delayed treatment or interruption. That will increase the severity of the disease or affect the health of the child in the long term. Therefore, during this epidemic, healthcare teams should understand the potential impact of chronically ill children and establish clear and appropriate care guidelines.
