การรักษาทางทันตกรรมจัดฟันในผู้ป่วยที่มีปัญหาทางปริทันต์ร่วมด้วย :รายงานผู้ป่วย

ในปัจจุบันพบว่ามีผู้ป่วยในช่วงวัยผู้ใหญ่เข้ารับการรักษาทางทันตกรรมจัดฟันเป็นจำนวนมาก ซึ่งเป็นความจริงที่ปฏิเสธไม่ได้ว่าผู้ป่วยในวัยนี้จะพบปัญหาทางทันตกรรมอื่น ๆ ร่วมด้วยในปริมาณที่มากขึ้น เช่น ปัญหาทางปริทันต์ การสูญเสียฟันแท้ไปบางส่วน ผลที่ตามมาอาจทำให้ฟันบริเวณข้างเคียงเกิดการล้มเอียงเข้ามา หรืออาจเกิดการยื่นยาวลงมาของฟันที่เป็นคู่สบ ทำให้เกิดปัญหา การสบฟันที่ผิดปกติซึ่งควรได้รับการแก้ไขด้วยการรักษาทางทันตกรรมจัดฟัน หากผู้ป่วยผู้ใหญ่ รายนั้นมีสภาวะทางปริทันต์ที่ดีและแข็งแรงก็สามารถให้การรักษาทางทันตกรรมจัดฟันแก่ผู้ป่วยได้ ดังนั้นบทความนี้ได้เสนอรายงานผู้ป่วยหญิงไทยอายุ 58 ปี ที่มีปัญหาสภาวะปริทันต์ระดับปานกลาง มีการร่นของเหงือกที่ฟันหน้าล่าง 1 ซี่ อย่างรุนแรงจากการสบไขว้บริเวณฟันหน้าบนและล่าง ร่วมกับมีการสูญเสียฟันแท้หลายซี่ โดยก่อนเริ่มการรักษาทางทันตกรรมจัดฟัน ผู้ป่วยได้ถูกส่งตัวเพื่อพบทันตแพทย์เฉพาะทางด้านปริทันต์ สำหรับการรักษาโรคปริทันต์อักเสบ จนกระทั่งผู้ป่วยมีสภาวะปริทันต์ที่สมบูรณ์แข็งแรง จึงเริ่มให้การรักษาทางทันตกรรมจัดฟัน ภายหลังการรักษาผู้ป่วยได้รับการแก้ไขการสบไขว้บริเวณฟันหน้าจนมีการสบฟันของฟันหน้าที่ปกติ และมีการสบฟันที่ดีร่วมถึงการมีสุขภาพสภาวะปริทันต์ที่ดีและแข็งแรง
