การรักษาโรคเหงือกอักเสบในผู้ป่วยออทิสติก: รายงานผู้ป่วย

ออทิสติกเป็นความผิดปกติของพัฒนาการทางระบบประสาทโดยมีความบกพร่องด้านปฏิสัมพันธ์ทางสังคม การสื่อสาร มีพฤติกรรมซ้ำ ๆ หรือมีความสนใจจำกัด การจัดการทางทันตกรรมในผู้ป่วยออทิสติกต้องอาศัยความเข้าใจและทีมที่อดทนซึ่งสามารถยอมรับในเอกลักษณ์ของผู้ป่วย เนื่องจากลักษณะของความผิดปกติมีได้หลายแบบขึ้นกับระดับของพัฒนาการและอายุของผู้ป่วยแต่ละราย รายงานผู้ป่วยนี้นำเสนอการรักษาโรคเหงือกอักเสบจากหินน้ำลายปริมาณมากในผู้ป่วยออทิสติก การรักษาสามารถดำเนินการได้สำเร็จโดยใช้วิธีจัดการพฤติกรรมแบบไม่ใช้ยาร่วมกับการกำกับดูแลของผู้ปกครอง ผู้ป่วยสามารถทำความสะอาดฟันและลิ้นได้ด้วยตนเองและมีสุขภาพช่องปากดีขึ้นหลังติดตามผล 20 เดือน
