Abstract

Abstract

          The quasi experimental study aims to compared knowledge and behavioral of drug consumption of people before and after of Community Empowerment to management of drug and healthcare product problem in Ban Nong Thum, Phayu District, Sisaket Province. 127 examples are all of Ban Nong Thum household. 127 examples are all of Ban Nong Thum household participate between 1 June 2020 and 31 August 2020 about 3 months. The data were collected by questionnaire about knowledge and behavior of drug consumption and analyzed using frequency, percentage and paired t-test was used to define significance at p<0.05.

          The results showed, the sample group was 127 people, most of them were female 58.3%, age 51-60 years old 34.6%, elementary education level 70.1%, farmers occupation 63.0% had no congenital disease 89.0%. After the development of community capacity for problem management, the knowledge score of inappropriate drugs and health products were increased statistically (6.0 ± 2.0 vs. 9.0 ± 1.2, p <0.001) from good to very good. The level of behavior of the people increased statistically (2.7 ± 0.6 vs. 3.7 ± 0.3, p <0.001) from good to very good. So, the model of community health product and drug management of the province can be applied to the Ban Nong Thum community because it gives people in the community knowledge and safe method of medicine in a better way and comes up with a guideline for problem management. The advertisement of illegal drugs and health products through community participation in the form of community fair which can be amplified to the community with characteristic problems.
