Abstract

Abstract

This study purposed to compare knowledge level and behavior level on health products before and after education among people in Ban Mai Patthana community, Nam Kien sub district, Phupieng district, Nan province. The Pretest-Posttest design was used in the experimental study with the paired sample t-test (p < 0.05) in data analysis. Sixty-five subjects of the sample group were chosen by simple random sampling. The tool is the questionnaire about know-how and consumption behavior on health products.

The results showed the most of sample group were female (72.3%), ages ranged from 51 to 60 years (40%) and has underlying disease (50.8%). The result of education shows the increase in their knowledge of consumption on health products with significantly statistical values 9.06 ± 1.67 and 13.55 ± 1.26 (P < 0.001). Knowledge level increase from good to particularly good. The most obtained level knowledge in the sample group was the medicine. Conversely, the least improvement was the cosmetics. The result on the consumption behavior on health products shows the increase in their appropriate behavior level with significantly statistical values 48.34 ± 4.09 and 53.84 ± 3.29 (p < 0.001). Behavior level increase from more appropriate to the most. The most average behavior score is the medicine, the least improvement is the cosmetic. In conclusion, Health product education cause knowledge of sample group increase good to particularly good. Behavior level increase from more appropriate to the most. Health product shows the most of knowledge and behavior score is the medicine, at least is the cosmetic.
