Abstract

Abstract

This survey research was then aimed to study about the level of consumption knowledge and  behavior on the healthcare products, compare consumption behavior on the healthcare products to gender and congenital disease status of household in
Ban Sawai, Phrai Bueng Subdistrict, Phrai Bueng District, Sisaket Province; and to study the relationship between such consumption behavior and several factors (their average age, their education and their knowledge on healthcare products). The samples were 125 people in Ban Sawai, Phrai Bueng Subdistrict, Phrai Bueng District, Sisaket Province. They were randomly selected and the questionnaires were used to collect the data from August to September, 2021. The descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, S.D.) and the inferent statistics (Independent t-test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient); were rendered to analyze the data in this study.

The results showed, the sample group was 125 people, most of them were female 73.6%, age under 50 years old 53.6%, secondary education level 66.4%, farmers occupation 80.0% had no congenital disease 80.0%. The samples’ knowledge on such products and their proper consumption behavior were found to be at medium level. Furthermore, it was found that gender and congenital disease status had not proper consumption behavior on healthcare products, as respectively (p-value < 0.05). The study also showed low positive relationship between the samples’ proper consumption behavior and their knowledge about such products, significant at the level of 0.05 at (r = 0.251, p = 0.005). The results of this study could be applied on the activities for the consumer potential development and the consumer protection to the people in Phrai Bueng District. They could be the guidelines for related personnel in developing strategies to decrease the improper peoples’ behavior on healthcare product consumption.
