Abstract

Abstract

         This study aims 1.To study the knowledge and behavior of self-medication purchases in 3 disease groups of people in Klee Kling Sub-district, Silalad District, Sisaket Province. 2.To study the factors related to knowledge about medicine and self-medication in 3 disease groups of people in Khli Kling Sub-district, Silalad District, Sisaket Province.This was a descriptive research study. The sample group was people aged 15 years and over who lived in Kli Kling Subdistrict, Silalat District. Sisaket Province, number of 304 people.Data were collected using questionnaires developed by the researcher. The content was verified by 3 experts. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. It is presented with frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The correlation of general information to knowledge and purchase behavior of self-medication from mild illness was analyzed using Chi-square statistic, defined as statistical significance at P < 0.05. Data were collected from April 1- 31 May 2020.

     The results found that the majority of the sample, 42.1%, had a low level of knowledge about drugs and self-medication. The self-medication purchase behavior  was at a good level with a mean score average of 3.17. The results of the analysis of the relationship between personal factors and knowledge about  drugs and self-medication of people in Khli Kling Subdistrict, Silalad District Sisaket  Province  and  the use of self-medication of the people of  Khli Kling Subdistrict, Silalat  District  Sisaket Province. It was found that sex, age, distance from home to hospital near home and how to get to the nearest hospital Relationship with knowledge about medicine and self-medication statistically significant at the 0.05 level (p-value = 0.009,0.022, <0.001 and <0.001, respectively). The results of the analysis of the relationship between personal factors and self-medication purchasing behavior It was found that age was related to self-medication purchasing behavior. of  the people of Klee Kling Sub-district, Silalad District, Sisaket Province statistically significant at the 0.05 level (p-value = 0.043).
