Abstract

Objective:   To study the situation and analyze the health risk factors from pesticide residues in fresh fruits and vegetables. To determine risk management measures and to study the effects of pesticide risk management processes in fresh fruits and vegetables at the source of production and distribution in Udon Thani Province. Method:  This research was an action study divided into two phases. The first phase uses a risk analysis and stakeholder process group meeting. and set measures to reduce the risk of pesticide residues in fresh fruits and vegetables.   The second phase is the study of the results of the risk management process. Assessing risk management measures, data were collected using in-depth interviews with the Udon Thani Food Safety Committee. Results:   Determine measures to manage risks in 3 areas: policy and supervision of the Food Safety Committee, Udon Thani Province.   Creating network partners for the development of the supervision system. Promote the potential of manufacturers and distributors Promote the potential of manufacturers and distributors. Monitoring, Surveillance and Law Enforcement. The situation of organophosphate and carbamate pesticide residues in fresh fruits and vegetables tends to decrease. In 2017-2021, found to exceed the standard by 2.58%, 2.36, 2.07, 1.06 and 1.00, respectively. Conclusion:  From the results of this study, it was concluded that pesticides remain a health risk problem.  Although there are ongoing surveillance from the public health agency. The establishment of three main measures can reduce the risk of pesticide residues in fresh fruits and vegetables.  And it is critical that there is a need to push for a safety control system from the production sites to the distribution sites.
