Abstract

The purpose of this research was studying the relationship of factors with compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) of drinking water in sealed containers manufacturers. The researchers studied the whole population in cross-sectional analytical study design in Samutsongkhram Province, consisting of 1) 42 manufacturers for quantitative analysis and 2) five competent officials under the Food Act (1979) for qualitative analysis. The research tools consisted of 1) a questionnaire for manufacturers 2) a semi-structured interview form for the agency 3) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) assessment form. The instrument were examined for content validity by experts and reliability with Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient greater than 0.7.

The results of the research showed that 40.5% of drinking water in sealed containers manufacturers failed to comply with GMP. The practices were found to be problem and unable to be fully performed consist of production process control, quality report system, quality testing with simple test kits, analysis of drinking water and raw water and providing a person having evidence of passing exams and completing training courses to control the production process. And factors statistically significant related to compliance with GMP of them consist of knowledge (p gif.latex?< 0.001), examination results for the production process supervisor (p gif.latex?< 0.001), self-study from information on the Internet (p = 0.003) and receiving the Mae Klong Guarantee Award 2022 (p gif.latex?< 0.001).

Assessment GMP guidelines of them should be continued. Relevant agencies should support and encourage manufacturers to realize the importance of GMP
