Dental Public Health in community Practicum Evaluation of Bachelor of Dental Public Health Program Students Sirindhorn College of Public Health, Chonburi

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate dental public health field work’s process, and to compare the level of opinions towards field work’s process, providing for the bachelor of public health students (dental public health program) at Sirindhorn College of public health, Chonburi. The samples were fifty four mentors and supervised teachers. The research tool was a five-level rating scale questionnaire divided into four aspects consisting of teaching and learning preparation, student assessment forms, field work procedure, and dental public health job learning of the students. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test and Mann Whitney U-test. The study found that mentors and supervisors had good levels of opinions regarding the four aforementioned issues of dental public health field work’s process. When comparing the mean scores of field work’s process evaluation, it was found that the field work procedure was significantly different between mentors and supervised teachers (p<0.05). However, the mean scores of teaching and learning preparation, student assessment forms and dental public health job learning of the students were not significantly different between mentors and supervised teachers.
