Objective: To compare the accuracy of implant placement in terms of deviations related to the virtual plan between 8 mm and 10 mm implant length placed by CAIS technique. Materials and methods: 24 single implants were randomly divided into two groups according to implant length (8 mm group and 10 mm group). Preoperative CBCT scan was taken using Accuitomo 3D machine. CoDiagnostiX software were used for virtual implant planning and template design. At the time of surgery, implant bed preparation and fully guided implant insertion were performed according to manufactural protocol. Postoperative CBCT scan were taken. coDiagnostiX software was used to measure the accuracy of implant. Results: The average deviations of axis were 3.18°±1.84° and 5.24°±1.25°, the average 3D deviations at platform were 1.14±0.60 mm and 1.27±0.60 mm, while, the average 3D deviations at apex were 1.39±0.63 mm and 1.90±0.51 mm for 8 mm-implant length group and 10 mm-implant length group respectively. Deviations of axis and 3D deviations at apex were significant different between groups. Conclusions: CAIS provides more accuracy of implant placement in 8 mm implant length compared with 10 mm length.
