The effects of promote self-care program using video media on knowledge, self-management, and satisfaction of post TURP patients at Surgical Unit, Suratthani Hospital

This study aimed to investigate an effects of self-care program on knowledges, self-management, and satisfaction of post TURP patients. There were 30 participants in one group pretest-posttest design. Participants were asked to complete interview questionnaires consisted of demographic questionnaires, self-management report questionnaires, and satisfaction questionnaires. The data was analyzed using various statistical analyses including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Paired-t test.
The results of patients’ knowledge in post TURP care were statisticaly significant (p<0.001) increased after using the program. After TURP for 2 weeks, the majority of participants could manag theirs health (90.00%)and the most of them were highly satisfied with the program (80.00%-93.33%).
Self-care program was related to better patients’ outcomes such as increased TURP care knowledges, high ability of post TURP self-management ,and satisfaction. Therefore, health care providers should ongoing promote self –management using video media on post TURP patient to prevent incidence of post TURP complications.
