Objective : To investigate the factors associated with Klebsella pneumoniae extended-spectrum b-lactamases producing stains (K. pneumonia ESBL) infection among admitted patients in Roi Et hospital, Roi Et province. Methods : A hospital base cases control study (Controls: Case =2:1) data were collected from medical recoded from during 1 January 2014 to 31 October 2015. Data analyses were used descriptive statistic, univariable analysis and multivariable analysis by multiple logistic regressions.
Resulted : The total numbers of study group were 125 cases and most of them were female 50.4 % mean age 62.2 years. Control group were 250 cases and most of them were male 56.6% and mean
age 50.0 years. In both group most of them were couple and occupational were farmers. The data analysis showed the factors associated with K. pneumonia ESBL infection were patients who more
than 60 years old (ORAdj.=1.9; 95% CI: 1.22-2.92), Duration of admitted more than 7 days (ORAdj.=2.0; 95% CI: 1.27- 3.13),Co-morbidity (ORAdj.= 3.6; 95% CI: 2.03- 6.64), Complication (ORAdj.=2.7; 95% CI: 1.70- 4.44), Blood received (ORAdj.=1.9; 95% CI: 1.23-3.04) and invasive procedure were Endotracheal tube (ORAdj.=1.6; 95% CI: 1.02-2.32) and Ventilator (ORAdj.=1.8; 95% CI: 1.00-2.36).Conclusion : The admitted patients who under this condition should have special guideline for them.
