Health perception, Social support and Self-care behaviors among adolescent pregnant in Phuket Province

Abstract

              This survey researchaimed to determine factors related and predicting ability of self-care behaviors of adolescent pregnant. The population of this study consisted of 450 Phuket adolescent pregnant. The instruments used for this research were questionnaires. (collecteddata among may 2015 - march 2016) The statistics employed in analyzing the data were descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis.
              The result showed that demography factor were not related on self-care behaviors of adolescent pregnant. Knowledge of self-pregnancy behavior, Risk-health perception factor and social support factor were moderate related on self-care behaviors of adolescent pregnant. (r = 0.313, 0.453 and 0.512 respectively) Form stepwise multiple regression analysis it was found that about 51.5 percent of the variance of self-care behaviors could be explained
by risk-health perception and social support. In addition, the result showed age of husband over 20 years old could be support adolescent pregnant early Ante Natal Care service and they increase perceived risk-health and supported good self-care behaviors on teenage pregnancy. Therefore health-care behaviors in adolescent pregnant were awareness perception about risk-health among pregnancy. Important supporters were husband parent and
relative, were emotional support, esteem support, tangible support and take care her for encourage good self-care behavior in adolescent pregnant.
