Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in Patthalung Hospital

Objective: To report the surgical treatment by Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) at Phatthalung Hospital.
Medthodology: The study from October 2000 to August 2008 among 122 patients. All case had symptomatic gall stone. Collected data from Medical Record Patthalung Hospital
Results: Patients were 88 females (73%) and 34 males (27%). The mean age was 49.4 years with the youngest patient was 21 years old and the oldest was 78 years. There were 118 successful cases of LC. The average duration of operation was 102 min. The minimum duration was 40 min and the maximum duration was 230 min.Overnumber of year the operation time was observed to be shorter. One case (0.8%) was detected to be ascites post operative and was sent to Songkhlanagarind hospital to perform correction which was known later that there was a bile duct injury.
Conclusions: The LC has been well accepted with high success rate in Phatthalung hospital since 2000.
