Verrucous Inverse Psoriasis

Both inverse psoriasis and verrucous psoriasis are rare variants of psoriasis which exhibit unique clinical manifestations. Inverse psoriasis appears at flexural sites such as the underarms, submammary, groins and buttocks or genitalia, and is characterized by erythematous, smooth, moist and shiny plaques without scales in contrast to plaque type psoriasis. Verrucous psoriasis, on the other hand, appears verrucous or hypertrophic, sometimes resembling verruca vulgaris. We present a case of a bedridden woman who developed verrucous psoriasis that appeared at flexural sites. This extraordinary combined clinical manifestations of both verrucous and inverse psoriasis as observed in our patient, to our knowledge, has not been reported.
