Abstract
This quasi-experimental research aimed to examine the effects of a diabetes remission care program on blood glucose levels, health behavior, and health literacy among patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at Sanpasitthiprasong hospital. Fifty patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were purposively selected, and randomly allocated into experimental and comparative groups, with 25 participants in each group. The experimental group received a 12-week diabetes remission care program, while the comparative group received usual care. The research instruments included the diabetes remission care program, health behavior questionnaire, and health literacy questionnaire. The index of item-objective congruence (IOC) of the questionnaires were 0.92 and 0.94 and reliability coefficients were 0.88 and 0.91 respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and t-test. The results showed that after the experiment, patients in the experimental group had significantly better health behavior and more health literacy than the comparative group at p < .001, and had significantly lower blood glucose levels than the comparative group at p < .05.
