THE RESULT OF MEDIA EXPOSURE IN TOURISM AND PERCEPTION OF PEOPLE ON THE TOURISM PUBLIC RELATION IN SUPHAN BURI PROVINCE

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the media exposure in tourism and perception of people in Amphoe Mueang, Suphan Buri Province towards Suphan Buri tourism public relations. The questionnaire was applied as a tool for this research, divided into 3 parts. The first part is demographic data, the second part is the exposure in tourism in Suphan Buri, and the third part is the perception of people in Amphoe Meang, Suphan Buri Province toward Suphan Buri tourism public relations. The questionnaire applied 5-level rating scales, the validity = 0.8704 and the reliability = 0.9012. A constructed questionnaire was used as a tool of this research. The samples used in this research comprised 499 people in Amphoe Mueang, Suphan Buri Province including 20 Sub-districts by accidental selection. The data analysis was conducted by percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The findings revealed as the following:
- The respondents were females (53.71%) and males (46.29%). Most of them were students aged between 15 - 25 years old with the income below 15,000 Thai baht.
- The media exposure in Suphan Buri tourism was mostly found in personal media from neighbors, print media from pamphlets, posters and brochures of tourist attractions, Internet from Facebook, and outdoor media from billboards put at junctions or intersections.
3. The perception of people towards Suphan Buri tourism public relations was found most in architecture and archeological site tourism ( = 3.92) (Next were), recreational tourism ( = 3.89), natural resource tourism ( = 3.84) and arts and culture tourism ( = 3.82) respectively.
