THE STUDY OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND SELF - DIRECTED LEARNING READINESS OF STUDENTS UNDERGRADUATE FACULTY OF EDUCATION SONGKHLA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract
The purposes of this research were; 1) to study the level of the learning environment, 2) to study the level of self - directed learning readiness, 3) to study the relationship between learning environment and self - directed learning readiness. The subjects were selected to include 287 students from the faculty of education at Songkhla Rajabhat University. The research tools were composed of a questionnaire about the correlation between learning environment and self - direct learning readiness. The data were analyzed using average, standard deviation, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The research results were as follows: 1) The level of the learning environment for first-year undergraduate students at Songkhla Rajabhat University score was high in aspects; Teacher characteristics and learner interactions (M = 4.32). 2) The level of self - directed learning readiness in first - year undergraduate students at Songkhla Rajabhat University score was high in aspects; Responsibility for learning (M = 4.30). 3) The moderate positive correlation was found between the learning environment and self - directed learning readiness in first - year undergraduate students, at Songkhla Rajabhat University with the significance level at .01 (r = .625).
