ACTUAL AND EXPECTED ROLES OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS IN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY EXPANSION SCHOOLS UNDER KRABI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the actual and expected roles of physical education (PE) teachers in educational opportunity expansion (EOE) schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office. Three hundred and forty-nine participants were assigned into two groups. Two groups of participants were set. Group 1 for the quantitative study, obtained from Krejcie and Morgan table, was 341 junior high school students in EOE schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office. The research instrument was a questionnaire on actual and expected roles of PE teachers in EOE schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office in five aspects: 1) academic, 2) pedagogical and activity management, 3) personality and human relations, 4) morality and ethics, and 5) sports and athletic abilities. Group 2 for qualitative study, acquired from purposive sampling, was 4 PE teachers and 4 school administrators (totaling 8 persons) in EOE schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office. The research instrument was an interview on actual and expected roles of PE teachers in EOE schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office.
Results indicated that the actual roles of PE teachers in EOE schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office, academic, pedagogical and activity management, morality and ethics there are opinions at a high level. Personality and human relations, sports and athletic abilities opinions are at the highest level. And expected roles physical education teacher the opinions were at the highest level in all 5 aspects.
