MOTIVATION FOR PURSUING BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION, FACULTY OF EDUCATION NATIONAL SPORTS UNIVERSITY SOUTHERN CAMPUS

Abstract
This research aimed to study and compare the motivation for pursuing a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Thailand National Sports University (TNSU) Southern Campuses. Participants, classified by gender and programs of study in the high school level, were 359 first year students, the academic year 2022 who were studying in the 4 southern campuses: Krabi, Trang, Chumphon and Yala. The instrument employed in the study was a questionnaire on motivation for pursuing a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Faculty of Education, TNSU Southern Campuses in 5 aspects: 1) landscape and environment of the university, 2) instructors and personnel, 3) curriculum and teaching and learning management, 4) extra - curricular activities, and 5) inspiration and personal reasons. The content validity was 1.00 and the reliability was .97. Statistical data analysis consisted of frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation and one-way analysis of variance and t - test.
The findings revealed that the motivation for pursuing a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Faculty of Education, TNSU Southern Campuses, all 5 sides in overall, was at
a highest level. When comparing the difference between genders and among the programs of study, it showed that there was a statistically significant difference on the motivation for pursuing a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Faculty of Education, TNSU Southern Campuses between males and females at the significance level of .05, and among the programs of study at the significance level of .05.
