THE DEVELOPMENT OF PREVENTION DROWNING MORTALITY MODEL AMONG CHILDREN UNDER 15 YEARS OF AGE
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to develop a model for preventing drowning deaths in children under 15 years of age. For the methodology, the research was conducted in three steps: Step 1: Study the related documents, research, and interviews with 5 experts, which were obtained through purposive sampling. The instrument was a semi-structured interview form, and the data were analyzed with analytic induction. Step 2: Developing a model for preventing drowning deaths in children under 15 years of age by collecting data and opinions from 17 experts through purposive sampling. The instrument used was a 5-rating scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed to determine the median and interquartile range. The results of the data analysis found that the model for preventing drowning deaths in children under 15 years of age consisted of 8 components (KEEPCRAB), namely: Knowledge (K), Environment (E), Equipment (E), Public relation (P), Cooperation (C), Rules (R), Abilities (A) and Budget (B). And step 3: Validating the model for preventing drowning in children under 15 years of age using a focus group discussion of 11 experts. It was found that there was consensus that the model for preventing drowning in children under 15 years was appropriate and could be utilized for various benefits.
