Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the need for physical education learning management in Sanfan Southern Border Schools. The sample group consisted of 357 respondents: 28 administrators, 52 physical education teachers, and 277 students from grades 10 to 12. The sample was selected using cluster sampling and proportional stratification. The research instrument was a questionnaire on the needs for physical education learning management in Sanfan Southern Border Schools, covering five areas: 1) curriculum and content, 2) teaching methods for physical education, 3) ethics for physical education teachers, 4) facilities, media and equipment, and 5) assessment and evaluation. The statistical methods used were descriptive statistics, including percentage, means, and standard deviation. The modified Priority Needs Index (PNI modified) was applied to rank the needs. The results showed that the overall actual needs for physical education learning management in Sanfan Southern Border Schools were highest in all five areas ( = 4.30, S.D. = 0.41). According to the sample group’s opinions, the expected needs for physical education learning management, were also at the highest level ( = 4.54, S.D. = 0.38). When ranking the expected needs to reflect the importance of the actual problems using the PNI modified, the top three areas identified as needing development were: 1) assessment and evaluation with a PNI modified of 0.065, 2) facilities, media, and equipment with a modified PNI index of 0.059, and 3) ethics for physical education teachers with a PNI modified of 0.055, respectively.
