COMPONENTS OF SPORTS INTELLIGENCE IN ESPORTS ATHLETES
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study on the components of sports intelligence is the first phase of a research project on the development model of sports intelligence in Esports athletes at Thailand National Sports University. The objective of this study is to synthesize the components of sports intelligence in Esports athletes. The findings from this phase will contribute to designing a development model for enhancing sports intelligence in Esports athletes at the Thailand National Sports University. This research follows a two-step approach, consisting of documentary research and qualitative research. Data were collected through a synthesis of 15 academic publications and research studies related to sports intelligence and cognitive abilities in athletes, published between 2017 and 2022. Additionally, interviews were conducted with 6 national Esports coaches and athletes from Thailand. The research instruments included a record form for synthesizing the components of sports intelligence in athletes and an interview guide for analyzing these components in Esports athletes. The reliability of the instruments was validated, with a validity score of 1.00. The findings revealed that sports intelligence in esports athletes consists of six key components: information processing, cognitive flexibility, inhibitory control, attention and focus, working memory and spatial ability.
