Abstract

This study aimed to investigate and prioritize the necessary needs for physical education learning management in schools under the Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office (Krabi PESAO). The 361 participants comprised 325 Grade 6 students, 18 administrators, and 18 physical education teachers. The research instrument was a questionnaire on the needs for physical education learning management in schools under the Krabi PESAO, covering five areas: 1) Academic, 2) physical education teaching and activity management, 3) personality and interpersonal skills,
4) morality and ethics, and 5) learning supports. The statistical analysis methods used were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The prioritization of needs was done using the Priority Needs Index (PNI). The results showed that the overall actual needs for physical education learning management in schools under the Krabi PESAO, in all five areas, were at the highest level (  = 4.49 and S.D. = 0.76). The overall expected needs for physical education learning management in schools under the Krabi PESAO, in all five areas, were at the highest level (  = 4.64 and S.D. = 0.47). When prioritizing the needs to reflect the importance of the actual problems using the PNI modified, the top 3 urgent aspects identified as needing development were: 1) academic with a PNI modified of 0.060, 2) physical education teaching and activity management with a PNI modified of 0.031, and 3) learning supports with a PNI modified of 0.031, respectively.
