THE EFFECT OF CoSAQ TRAINING ON ATHLETE PHYSICAL FITNESS AND COGNITIVE FUNCTION
Main Article Content
Abstract
This quasi-experimental research aimed to study and compare the effects of CoSAQ and SAQ training on physical fitness and cognitive function in athletes. This randomized controlled trial involved 30 combat sport athletes (taekwondo, karate, and boxing) Average age 20 years, divided into experimental (CoSAQ) and control (SAQ) groups of 15. Both groups trained for 8 weeks following their respective programs. Data were collected before training, after 4 weeks, and after 8 weeks of training. Measurements included reaction time, coordination, speed, agility, quickness, and cognitive function. Data were analyzed using one-way repeated measures ANOVA and independent t-test. Results showed significant improvements in all variables for both groups after training (p < 0.05). The CoSAQ group demonstrated significantly greater improvements in reaction time, coordination, and cognitive function (p < 0.05), while improvements in speed, agility, and quickness were similar between groups (p > 0.05).
