TOURISM PROMOTION IN THAILAND THROUGH FOOTBALL TOURISM

Abstract

This academic article aims to analyze policy models for managing and promoting tourism in Thailand through sports tourism especially in the field of football, due to at present, the government has a policy to promote sports for tourism. It is an integration between tourism and sports, because the tourism industry is an industry that a huge role in the national economy because of it is one of the industries that generate the main income for the country and can grow continuously. Due to changes in tourist behavior and the trend of sports tourism that is likely to grow. This is an opportunity for Thailand to develop into a sports tourism destination, together with values and the trend of the new generation who turn to take care of their health and pay more attention to sports and exercise. This is one of the sports that is supported and promoted by the government, also received attention known and loved includes football. In other words, sports tourism it is interesting form tourism. Because it can attract many tourists and help create additional value for tourism. At the same time, it can also be used as an opportunity to promote the competition venue to upgrade it to a new tourist attraction


Sports tourism has a positive impact on the national economy. Therefore, the development of football management to be standardized and truly effective there should be integration with relevant agencies there is a work plan with clear coordination of each agency between tourism and sports. This must be pushed towards becoming a sports tourism destination in the region in order to ensure the sustainability of sports tourism in the future.
