DEVELOPMENT OF THE “SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY Q&A” WEB APPLICATION AS A REAL-TIME INTERACTIVE SYSTEM FOR ATHLETES: A PILOT STUDY

Abstract

This pilot study aimed to survey the demand and develop a web application “sports psychology q&a” as a real-time interactive system for athletes with a pilot study. Volunteers were 322 sportspersons from twelve provinces (e.g. Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Chonburi, Rayong, Nakon Sawan, Phitsanulok, Roi Et, Samut Songkhram, Surat Thani, Phang Nga). Study tool used for survey was the Web-Application Demand Survey for “Sports Psychology Q&A” with the google form, as well as a developed tool was the integration of content from the textbook PED4303 Sports Psychology to an innovation of “Sports Psychology Q&A web application” approved the content validity, reliability and objectivity. Statistic used for survey analysis was percentage and for the web-application development was the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient to analysed a test-retest Reliability.


          Results are: 1) volunteers consented to participate in the study (consent = 97.4%; not to consent = 2.6%), Gender (Male = 59.8%; Female = 40.2), Age (<18 = 45.1%; 18-25 = 27.9%; 26-35 = 14.8%; 36-45 = 9.0%; >45 = 3.2%), Education (lower graduation = 59.8%; Bachelor’s degree = 28.7%; Master degree = 7.6%; Doctorate = 3.8%), They thought this app was useful for them (useful = 99.1%; no use = 0.9%), useful for economic (useful = 99.1%; not useful = 0.9%), Need to use (need = 87.6%; no need = 12.4%), and 2) the web app has the content validity values range from 0.8 to 1.0 and the reliability value of 0.84.
