Abstract
Objective: To investigate the associated factors of adolescent pregnancy in Public Health Center 34 Phosri,Department of Health, Bangkok
Methods: Both quantitative and qualitative descriptive research methodologies: percentage, mean and the varianceand standard deviation were applied in the study. Qualitative analysis was conducted through the theoretical framework.
Results: The factors affecting adolescent pregnancy: 1) Limited knowledge and understanding, including carelessnessabout pregnancy 2) Family: misleading upbringing and estranged relationships 3) External environment:inappropriate behavior role model from peers and community members and 4) Risky behavior: unprotectedsexual intercourse and alcoholic drinking
Conclusions: Adolescents’ limited knowledge and risky behavior, family and environment were risk factors foradolescent pregnancy in Public Health Center 34 Phosri, Bangkok.
