Medical Emergency Management in Mass Casualty

Abstract
Many injuries which are related to the accident or disaster situation result in losses unless managed properly.The heart of emergency management is prepared plan for the casualty called the accident or disaster managementplan. These plans need to include all related aspects and is different according to the type of disaster; therefore, eacharea needs to be surveyed to prepare area specific plan using multi-level approach. From the context of Bangkok asa major city and capitol of Thailand, there are many different organizations responsible for each area leading to thecomplexity of management from the federal agency. Operating process with separated levels of command is thusunavoidable. Faculty of Medicine Vajira hospital is one of the hospitals situated in Bangkok area which provide andoperate the medical operating system for emergency medical assistance for the injured actively at the scene includingthe operating disaster plans issued in the hospital through the Incident Command System (ICS). The effective planneeds to be practical and regularly rehearsed, has clearly defined zones and commander for each area with no frequentchange to avoid confusion. The plans should include network creation, regular survey of related resources andeffective incident commander.
