Abstract

Objective: 1.) To study personal factors illness factors support factor and the results of emergency medical services at the Bangkok Emergency Medical Service Center (Erawan Center) in the elderly living in Bangkok at the time of the incident 2.) To study the relationship of related factors including personal information illness factors and support factors are related to the outcome of emergency medical services of Bangkok Emergency Medical Service Center (Erawan Center)


Method: This research is a descriptive research. By studying the data back from the record form for reporting the cause and order (Starting from the team leaving the operating base to the scene) Bangkok Emergency Medical Services of 65,285 elderly people using the services of the Bangkok Emergency Medical Service Center (Erawan Center) in the Bangkok area


Result: The sample group was 33,292 males, 31,993 females, mostly aged 70 - 79 years old, 21,375 cases (32.7%). Most of the leading symptoms of emergency medical service were 17,672 case (27.1%), duration of service. Emergency patients with red code crisis received services at the level of advanced medical practice within 10 minutes, with 9,131 cases (14.0%), emergency patients urgently, yellow codes received services at the basic level medical practice within 15 minutes, with 11,396 cases (17.5%) and mild emergency patients, green code receives basic level medical practice within 120 minutes, with 1,478 cases (2.3%). The readiness of most operating units operating in the area of  responsibility is 64,485 cases (98.8%). Success in helping elderly patients who request emergency medical services Emergency patients with red codes have received services within 10 minutes, with 9,416 cases (14.4%). Emergency patients urgently, yellow codes are received within 15 minutes, with 12,992 cases (19.9%) and mild emergency patients, green codes are available receiving service within 120 minutes, with 1,691 cases (2.6%) when used to test hypotheses with Chi-square relationship statistics. It was found that illness factors (Leading symptoms, severity of symptoms) and support factors (Reporting channel) is related to the outcome of emergency medical services at the Bangkok Emergency Medical Service Center. (Erawan Center) with statistical significance at the level of .01 and .05


Conclusion: From the results of the study, it was found that the duration of the service (Response Time) and the success of helping elderly patients requesting emergency medical services has not yet reached the target, therefore, the researcher proposed that the organization that manages emergency medicine focus on the provision of emergency medical services to meet the needs and the level of illness of the elderly who request services. By bringing the study results into the data for planning Establish effective management policies such as adding parking spots outside the hospital to reduce the impact of disruptive variables, including Traffic congestion in urban areas Adding more personnel to work in the system Supporting pharmaceutical and medical resources And the ambulance. In addition, the development of knowledge, skills and abilities should be promoted in order to have quality standards and work efficiently. By focusing on training to develop specific skills in emergency medicine
