Treatment of External Root Resorption: A Case Report

This article presents the treatment of external root resorption in a 52 year old man. The treatment was endodontic surgery of mandibular left central incisor with external root resorption which perforated the root canal above epithelial attachment. The cause of this abnormality was due to chronic inflammation from dental caries exposed pulp. After root canal filled with guttapercha by vertical condensation  technique, the resorption defect was filled with amalgam via a surgical approach. The patient remained asymptomatic after 6 months follow up, the periapical radiograph no more root resorption.
