Implementation of histopathological processing by microwave has been recognized for more than two to three decades. It’s main advantage is a considerable reduction of processing time. This ultimately results in a faster diagnosis compared to the conventional method, therefore reducing anxiety of the patients. The quality of the dye staining of the slides through microwave technique is not different from that using conventional method. Furthermore, microwave technique also improves the laboratory environment because it does not involve formalin or xylene normally used in the conventional method, which are mucosal and dermatological irritant.
