The Diabetes Mellitus Screening for Prevention Effectiveness of Diabetes Mellitus Incidence: The Civil Societal Perspective, Loei Province, Thailand

Abstract

This mixed methodology research aimed to study the diabetes mellitus screening for prevention effectiveness of diabetes mellitus incidence: The civil societal perspective. Data was collected by data recording form for situation analysis. Data analysis by Kruskal-Wallis Test and One-Way ANOVA, confirm the couple difference by Tukey HSD means. After that, input the result to civil society in term of focus groups discussion for civil societal perspective. The data was collected from October 2017 to March 2019. The results showed that the body mass index (BMI) were difference (F=9.983, p-value< 0.001). The fasting blood sugar were difference (F=9.983, p-value< 0.001). The incidence of diabetes mellitus were difference from each area (F=22.792, p-value< 0.001) and different from each years. In the viewing of the civil societal perspective, the screening and prevention of diabetes mellitus in the past were not effectiveness than dynamic of healthy lifestyle. The healthy lifestyle was changing rapidly. The incident was continuing increasing. About one time/year for the diabetes mellitus screening was inefficiency to prevent of diabetes mellitus incidence.  There should be an appropriate screening and prevention process that is consistent with the area and individual context.
